WSD Marketing Director and Teacher

When I was 14 years old I started working at Whim So Doodle. My mom owns the store and I have loved every minute of being a part of the store with her. I have a husband and a dog whom we spoil. When we are not downtown being a part of the city we are out on the boat enjoying the water and the wildlife.

I think I discovered my creativity in my high school art class when we were assigned colored pencil drawings. I discovered my love for mixing colors and using them to make things come to life. Ever since then I have fully embraced my creative whims. This led me to brush calligraphy which is my current addiction.

I am inspired by a lot of things; community, fellowship, music, St. Pete, scenery etc. I think my favorite way to play creatively is anything that requires mixing colors whether that is an acrylic abstract painting or mixing color pencils.

In the store, there is an entire brush calligraphy section!!! I have personally bought at least two of everything on that table. It is all of Japan’s best pens, markers, and brushes mixed with wax seals and practice mats! My other favorite area is the golden collection that the store has. Just looking at them all anyone would be inspired by all the possibilities!

I teach our monthly brush calligraphy class and it is always my favorite night of every month! I have a lot of fun teaching the techniques and sharing everything I have learned over the years with my students and giving them the foundation to practice and build on to curate their own brush calligraphy alphabet!
